APPOSITIVE

Appositive adalah frasa yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan Subject, Noun, atau Pronoun.

Appositive biasanya terletak di:

1. Subject, Appositive, Verb

2. Appositive, Subject, Verb

3. Subject, Verb, Appositive

Contohnya:

1. Sir Amat, the headman in our village, has 3 daughters

2. The president of the Republic of Indonesia, Jokowidodo, has been injected with the vaccine.

3. I like to eat rendang, a typical Padang food.

4. Harry, a former soldier, has had to drop his official militaray titles.

Present Participle

Present participle adalah aturan dalam penulisan ( Verb1 + ing ).

Aturan dalam penulisan +ing yaitu:

1. Verb berakhiran E

Contohnya : Write menjadi Writing

2. Verb berakhiran IE

Contohnya : Lie menjadi Lying

3. Verb berakhiran EE (huruf vokal A,I,U,E,O)

Contohnya : See menjadi Seeing

Namun tidak semua kata yag berakhiran ING adalah present participle, jika Ing disertai Tobe maka akan menjadi Verb, sedangkan jika Ing saja itu bisa menjadi Gerund dan bisa menjadi Present participle.

Contohnya :

1. The boys playing video games are having fun.

2. They are fun playing video games instead.
